National City is the second oldest city within San Diego and at the “Center of it all.” In between the regions largest cities, National City has a very vibrant culture and historic centers around the city.
The City has an estimated population of 61,060 residents that live in 7.28 square miles. Over 70% of the population speak a language other than English, further adding value of diversity in our city.
National City is governed by 4 Council Members and 1 Mayor; all of which are voted city-wide. All serve 4 year terms, and there are two council seats up for election every two years. The top two vote getters are elected to represent this thriving city.
